THEIA RT interactive lighting demo using OpenCL, FirePro graphics and Microsoft Kinect

July 02, 2012 by Tony DeYoung

This first demo from AFDS of OPTIS THEIA RT shows real-time lighting using OpenCL running on a FirePro graphics card with a Microsoft Kinect to interactively control point of view, car paint color and reflective lighting through body positioning.  This enables designers to experiment and make instant decisions about color, material and effects without technology getting in the way.

The second video demo also enabled by a FirePro graphics card, shows an application of THEIA RT as a virtual card showroom.  Impressive stuff.
